Hi There!

Welcome to my blog! This space has been used over the past several years to document mainly my natural hair journey and several different aspects of my life such as spiritual matters, my jewelry design, and parenting. I will from time to time post on this blog but my newly revamped blog can be found at BeautifullyCurled.com. Here you will find much recent updates about my hair journey along with my daughter's and so much more. Hope you will come by and visit and thanks for stopping by this blog. Be blessed. -Kris

Z's Gorgeous Afro

I decided to let Z's fro out since it has been awhile. I applied some of the Shea Moisture Curl Smoothie on her damp hair, which made it incredibly soft, and swirled little sections around my finger to create some definition in her fro. It turned out so cute:

Of course this only lasted a day. The next morning, her fro was all mushed to the sides and back of her head...lol.

Praying for the Wrong Thing [As It Relates to Faith]

So I am studying about faith because it is one area I struggle with more often than not. I have many times prayed to God to help increase my faith in Him over all areas in my life because I have felt that my little bit of faith is not enough to get me through my current trials. (smh btw) Well, recently in my studies, I focused on the Parable of the Mustard Seed. After reading it and studying different commentaries about the parable, I realized that I have been praying for the wrong thing. I learned that God wants me to use what little faith I have in Him and just apply it in my life. I don't have to wait for this enormous amount of faith to kick in order to move in God's will and get me through my most difficult circumstances. With my little faith and trust in Him, God can provide the increase through His continual [Rom 8:28] working in my life. Geez! #HiswordISamazing!

Little faith + Big God = Huge Results

Master Cleanse Challenge Update: Days 1-4

My body has gone through quite a bit of changes over the past several days but it has definitely been for the better. Today is day 5 for me and my energy level despite not having a single bite of food (except for the itty bitty cracker during Sunday's communion) since this past Saturday is AMAZING! My skin is starting to feel so much smoother, I am not nearly as ashy getting out of the shower (probably because I am now using a pure glycerin soap I got from Whole Foods), my sore throat has completely healed itself in 4 days without any suppressant medication or drops, and I have been working out for the past two days without feeling drained because of no food in my system. Naturally I have lost some weight, and I will post before (EEK!) and after pictures once I am done with the cleanse.

This cleanse has been such an eye opening experience! It has shown me how efficient the body can operate once the stored up GUNK and toxins from years of bad eating and being exposed to the environment are gradually eliminated from the intestinal system. My feeling great right now on day 5 makes is hard to imagine how I will feel at the end of day 10. Pretty mind boggling. I might be jumping through the roof by then...lol.

But here is my update on the challenge during days 1-4 (click here for the pdf of the Master Cleanse):

Mini Twists Update: Styles and Maintenance

It has almost been three weeks since installing my mini twists and I can definitely say that I am ready to take them down this weekend. Here is an update on how the twists are holding up so far.
